This unit focuses on advanced resuscitation techniques, including the use of oxygen therapy and airway adjuncts. Suitable for healthcare workers, emergency responders, and first aid officers, HLTAID015 builds on CPR knowledge to enhance response capabilities during cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Participants learn to manage unconscious casualties, operate resuscitation equipment, and maintain effective incident records.
Designed for those needing a higher level of emergency response capability, this course focuses on advanced life support techniques. Participants will learn:
HLTAID015 is ideal for healthcare workers, emergency responders, and designated first aiders in complex or high-risk workplaces.
The Standard face to face course is a longer duration and focusses on training of skills and knowledge as well as practical assessments.
Thorough training of skills and knowledge is to prepare students for the practical assessments on the day. The standard course is for those students who require practice of skills prior to partaking in the practical assessments.
As First Responder Academy training is refreshed every three years, unless students are regularly completing workplace training, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place, we recommend completing the standard course.
The Express face to face course is a shorter duration and focusses on practical assessments only.
The face-to-face session generally does not include preparation for practical assessments, as students are expected to attend the course with a level of practical experience to undertake the assessments. Students are expected to have completed a first aid course in the past, and regularly complete workplace training, or a role within a first aid capacity, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place.
As Express courses are strictly for experienced students, should students require further training to help them complete their practical assessments on the day, the trainer/assessor may charge an additional fee or recommend students complete further training including attending a standard course.

Face to face learning is 6 hrs, online learning up to 4 hrs
A valid USI is required. Register at www.usi.gov.au.
Participants must be able to read, write, and understand English to complete course assessments.
You must be able to perform CPR on a manikin, including kneeling for at least 2 minutes.
Must not have any medical condition that limits participation in advanced first aid or oxygen therapy activities.
These courses are ideal for corporate, health, and high-risk work environments.
Courses must be booked in advance with payment completed prior to training day.
Certificates are issued by ABC First Aid RTO 3399, subject to successful completion of all course requirements.
