HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

About this course

This course is designed to teach you the essential life-saving technique of CPR. You’ll learn how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, understanding the critical differences and techniques required for each age group. The HLTAID009 course goes beyond just chest compressions, also covering the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and how to manage breathing emergencies. We deliver this course with a focus on real-world scenarios, ensuring you are prepared to step in and act when someone’s life is at risk. Whether at home, at work, or in the community, you’ll feel empowered to save lives with confidence and skill.

What is standard?

The Standard face to face course is a longer duration and focusses on training of skills and knowledge as well as practical assessments.

Thorough training of skills and knowledge is to prepare students for the practical assessments on the day. The standard course is for those students who require practice of skills prior to partaking in the practical assessments.

As First Responder Academy training is refreshed every three years, unless students are regularly completing workplace training, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place, we recommend completing the standard course.

What is express?

The Express face to face course is a shorter duration and focusses on practical assessments only.

The face-to-face session generally does not include preparation for practical assessments, as students are expected to attend the course with a level of practical experience to undertake the assessments. Students are expected to have completed a first aid course in the past, and regularly complete workplace training, or a role within a first aid capacity, where the practice of hands on first aid skills take place.

As Express courses are strictly for experienced students, should students require further training to help them complete their practical assessments on the day, the trainer/assessor may charge an additional fee or recommend students complete further training including attending a standard course.
